BACKGROUND

As a Texas-born and -raised bandleader, singer/songwriter, classically trained pianist, and composer first educated in composition and orchestration at Columbia University under Pulitzer Prize-winner Paul Moravec, followed by a stint studying film scoring in the UCLA Extension program, I attempt to combine my love of a multitude of musical genres—from ambient techno, to bebop, to power pop—in presenting an altogether compelling, personal, and individual musical voice.

Over the last several years, the variety of work experiences I have been able to enjoy—from scoring (and receiving film-festival awards for) both dramatic and comedic films, to creating a custom library for reality-TV stalwart Bunim/Murray, to supplying interstitial music for KCRW in Los Angeles, to composing classical Vivaldi-influenced vocal pieces for a prominent audio book, to recording and touring with my pop/jazz band Layabout—only further reinforces my love of writing for film, television, and other mediums. I look forward to pursuing this type of wonderfully creative and inspiring work in the years ahead.
